  Pastor Jeffrey Goodman


























Jeffrey Goodman was called as pastor of Salem in September 2009. Jeff was raised locally in New Holland, PA, and played football and baseball at Garden Spot High School. Two weeks after graduation Jeff began his enlistment in the United States Navy at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Jeff served for four years of active duty as a Hospital Corpsman. He served at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in the Emergency Medicine Department, and as a platoon Corpsman with 2nd Battalion 8th Marines. Upon release from active duty, Jeff affiliated with the US Navy Reserve and served as Battery Corpsman with 3rd Battalion 14th Marines.

While serving in the Reserve, Jeff enrolled first at Harrisburg Area Community College and later Millersville University of PA. Jeff graduated with a BA (with honors) in History. Following graduation, Jeff began courses at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown, PA, graduating in 2005 with a Master of Divinity (with honors). Jeff served Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, Pequea, PA, from 2005 to 2007. In the summer of 2007, Jeff enrolled as a student at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Jeff graduated with a Master of Sacred of Theology in 2008. Jeff’s primary focus at LTSP was Lutheran Confessions and Theology.

Jeff is married to Sharon and they have been blessed with two children, Evan and Abigail. They live in Ephrata. Jeff is a self-described baseball nut. He also enjoys running, reading history, and spending time with his family and extended family.
