A beautiful Autumn Sunday

Well Autumn has begun! Harvest Home Sunday and the Ephrata Fair are in the books for 2023. This past Sunday was Lutheran World Relief In-Gathering and welcoming new members to Salem. This is always a special Sunday because its the culmination of year's worth of work in putting together the comforters. These gatherings of ladies putting the comforters together are often filled with laughter and conversation and its a special thing to be a part of.

This past Sunday all of the comforters (all forty two of them) were displayed around the church and in the nave. We then blessed these comforters and the next day packed them to be taken to a rally point for a number of churches in our area. The comforters are then taken to the LWR distribution center in Maryland where they are shipped all over the world to those in need.

In addition to the In-Gathering we also welcomed two new members of Salem. We are

always thrilled when others join us as we confess that Jesus is Lord! Salem has never been a large church and we remain a mostly older and small parish. No matter our size or demographics, our unyielding commitment is to be faithful to our Lord Jesus and His Word. In our often chaotic and changing world it is Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! If you are looking for a church that is dedicated to the historic and apostolic Faith of Jesus Christ, as well as the liturgical life of the Western Church than Salem Church is the place for you in Ephrata, PA. Come join us-Christ leads us always.
